May 1, 2006 MOHLTC Funding Announcement
The Minister announced both the government's response to the Caplan review and the new funding for CCACs for 2006/07. The funding announcement includes:
$35 million for acute home care services
$26.7 million for end-of-life care, including funding for 4 new residential hospices
$30 million to implement the Caplan recommendations, including an increase in the minimum wage for PSWs from $9.65/hr to $12.50/hr, and enhanced benefits and job security
$12.75 million for in-home rehab (hips and knees), and
$13.1 million for Community Support Services
In total, CCACs will receive $101.8 million in new funding as outlined in the attachments.

The Ontario Health Quality Council has released its first yearly report to Ontarians on their public health care system. The report looks at access, information management, innovation & research, and health services delivery integration, as well as evidence on the current state of the health system and population health.
