Barry Brownlow - vice chair
Barry Brownlow is the founding partner of Brownlow Partners, Chartered Accountants. He supports entrepreneurial clients with ownership and succession management advice. Barry is a member of the business advisory council for the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and chair of the audit and finance committees for the Bay Area Health Trust. Barry is a past director of Hamilton Health Sciences and the Hamilton and District Chamber of Commerce. He is a past director and chair of the audit committee for the Ontario Hospital Association and vice chair of the board. Barry was a member of the Customer Needs and New Product Lines Sub-Committees of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Special Committee on Assurance Services. He also was an advisor to The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' Task Force on Assurance Services. Barry graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science. He obtained his C.A. in 1976 and his FCA designation in 2006.

Sheila Hosking
Sheila Hosking taught school for 35 years, first in Wawa, then in Kapuskasing, and then in Niagara Falls. Twenty-five years of her teaching career was spent in special education. She designed and implemented the first Special Education Resource Room to provide in-depth instruction to students experiencing difficulty in specific curriculum subjects. This model was not only implemented in the Niagara Region but across the province. While teaching she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree with distinction at Brock University. In addition to humanitarian efforts, Sheila is a member of the Governor’s Council at the Shaw Festival. A people person, she participates in a visiting program through her church and is an active member of Preserve Our Parks and Fair Share programs.

Jerry Lawlor
Jerry Lawlor is the Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity (Waterloo Region). He has an extensive background in fundraising, marketing, and public relations within healthcare related organizations having worked with the Huntington Society of Canada, the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation, Hamilton Health Sciences, and the Victorian Order of Nurses (Niagara). As someone who has attained and maintained his CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive), Jerry is well versed in securing financial and public support for community needs while demonstrating his commitment to donors. A resident of Brantford, Jerry currently sits as a Director with the Cancer Assistance Program and has volunteered with other organizations including Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Canada, the YMCA and various youth basketball clubs.

Len Lifchus
Len Lifchus is currently the CEO of the United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton. He has held senior positions with several United Way organizations across Canada including Executive Director of the United Way of the Central & South Okanagan / Similkameen and CEO of the United Way of Peterborough & District. Len is also a nationally trained facilitator, mediator and trainer in board governance, volunteer management, appreciative inquiry, and the United Way of Canada’s organizational review and standards of excellence. He is also a master trainer in program outcome measurements.

Bruce McIntosh
Bruce McIntosh was born and raised in Toronto. Upon graduation from Toronto Teacher’s College and Wilfred Laurier University he taught in a residential school for boys under the Ministry of Correctional Services. When that facility closed he moved to the W. Ross MacDonald School for the Blind. He continued teaching deaf blind children until his retirement. Bruce has always been an active community member. He has been part of service clubs and a volunteer with various sporting organizations – hockey, swimming, skiing and yachting. In each of the community pursuits he was involved at the executive or administrative level. In swimming he was a national level official and in yachting he was a judge at the local and regional level. As a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol, he was vice-president of training and coordinated first aid courses (Mohawk, Fanshawe, Sheridan and Niagara Colleges). Bruce joined the HNHB CCAC board after serving as a director of the Brant CCAC.

in Hamilton. He currently serves on the Police Chief’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee and has served on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton
Public Library (Vice-Chair, Executive Committee, Chair of Audit Committee, Chair of Succession Planning Committee), Hamilton Community Foundation (Executive Committee, Treasurer, Chair of Finance and Investment Committee), Theatre Aquarius (Executive Committee, Chair of Marketing Committee, member of Succession Planning Committee) and the Chamber of Commerce (Chair of Business Development Committee) among others. George has also been actively involved with the Lung Association – Hamilton, Wentworth (Chair of the Board, Chair of Finance Committee, Chair of Fundraising Committee), for many years. He is a graduate of Wilfred Laurier University. He earned his C.A., remains active in his professional development and has been a member of The Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses since 1986.

Gary Ostofi
Gary Ostofi has been in policing for over forty years. He has held numerous positions in the Hamilton Police Service and is presently assigned to drug enforcement. A long and distinguished military career ran parallel to his police career. Gary served as a Combat Team Commander, Commanding Officer of a Combat Service Battalion and finally as a Commander in the Naval Reserve. He deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo and to Afghanistan to report on troop morale and humanitarian support performed by our brave men and women in uniform. In recognition of his own humanitarian service, Gary was honoured with the rank of Captain (Navy) by the Department of National Defence.
In the local community, he has served as an executive member of numerous committees including Disabled and Aged Regional Transit System (DARTS),
St. John Ambulance, Mayor’s Committee Against Racism, Central Hamilton Planning Committee and Hamilton Election Fairness Committee.

Dave Ringler
Dave Ringler retired from Ontario’s wine industry following 34 years at Andres Wines. He spent 23 years in the marketing department finishing his tenure as Vice President Marketing. He developed and promoted brands such as Baby Duck, Hochtaler, Domaine D’Or, Hillebrand and Peller Estates. He then became Executive Vice President of Operations responsible for building a customer oriented Operations team. He was also active with the Wine Council of Ontario serving as Chair of the Wine Promotion and Market Development Committee, the Grape Advisory Committee and the Grape Price Negotiating Committee. He has served as a member of the Board of the St. Catharines General Hospital, the Hospital Restructuring Committee that lead to the formation of the Niagara Health System (NHS), and the Board of the NHS.

Carole L. Ward, chair
Carole L. Ward has a wide variety of experience and leadership in community-based health. She served on the board of the CCAC of Halton for seven years, including a term as chair. A teacher by profession, she pioneered a special education program for secondary schools in Halton. Carole has extensive involvement in community services and supports for seniors, frail elderly and accessibility issues for people with physical challenges. She was a member of the MS Ontario Board of Directors and is also a long-time member of the Halton MS Chapter. Carole is the Chair of Elder Services Advisory Committee (Halton Region), Chair of the Halton Regional Chapter of the MS Society, and Chair of the Halton Oral Health Outreach committee. In June 2009, Carole was awarded the Volunteer Service Award for Geriatric Excellence – Regional Geriatric Program (Central).
