Respite/Caregiver Support

Your CCAC recognizes the important role family and friends fulfill in supporting loved ones to remain at home. Some are involved in caring for an elderly parent or for caring for a child with special needs.

Caring for an elderly parent, a medically fragile child or a dying family member or friend requires time, attention and patience. If you are caring for a loved one and need some respite, please contact your CCAC. Our Care Coordinators can link you to a number of resources, including day programs or support groups.

Adult Day Services

Adult Day Services offer an ideal alternative to caregivers by providing a daytime care environment outside of the home. The programs offer your loved one an environment where they are nurtured, stimulated and cared for while at the same providing a welcome relief for the primary caregiver. Some programs offer overnight services.

Benefits of an Adult Day Service

For the Person:

  • A regular schedule of enjoyable social, recreational and purposeful activities
